Costa Brava Property Prices

According to portal Idealista, the average property prices across the region of Girona ended the first quarter of 2017 on €1,793 per square metre, up 6.8% on the average price at the end of the first quarter of 2016. The average price changes varied in different regions with the greatest price increases seen in the sought-after area of Palamós.

 

This year we have seen an increase of movement in the Costa Brava, and a considerable movement in the high segment of the market compared to previous years. International buyers continue to dominate the market, but there is growing interest from Spanish buyers, who already account for 30% of total sales. The domestic market has also begun to recover, with several luxury sales to local buyers, which is a very positive indication after a long period of little activity in the rustic sector and with few sales in the Spanish market.

We started the year well during the first quarter. In contrast, the second and third quarters have been exceptionally quiet, probably due to the uncertainty of Brexit, with a peak in sales in the last quarter of the year.
